The Carleton wind park entered operation in November 2008. With a capacity of 109.5 MW and including 73 wind turbines, this wind park is located entirely on public land. The Carleton wind park straddles two municipalities: the town of Carleton-sur-Mer and the unorganized territory of the Bonaventure RCM.
During construction, all economic sectors in the Baie-des-Chaleurs region came into play. Over 83 % of the workforce on the construction site consisted of residents of Gaspésie and the Matane RCM. In all, 600 workers contributed to the success of this wind park.
